Salary: USD 201,400 - 251,750 / annual

Cohesity is seeking a Sales Engineering Manager to lead a small team of Sales Engineers in the Chicago/Minneapolis region. This is a hands-on management role combining technical leadership with pre-sales execution support. In this position, you will lead and develop a team of Sales Engineers, providing coaching on technical skills, customer engagement, and sales cycle execution. You'll partner closely with Sales Managers to support new customer opportunities, delivering hands-on technical guidance across Cohesity's Data Cloud portfolio—including backup, recovery, cyber resilience, and data security solutions. Key responsibilities include: - Leading, coaching, and developing Sales Engineers on technical capabilities and customer engagement - Supporting complex customer opportunities and ensuring high-quality pre-sales technical support across assigned territories - Managing customer engagements across data protection, backup, recovery, and cyber resilience use cases - Assisting with RFPs, RFIs, proposals, and deal support with accurate technical positioning - Delivering product demonstrations, technical workshops, and proofs of concept - Identifying technical challenges during pre-sales and escalating to Product, Engineering, and Support teams - Providing hands-on coaching during complex deals and customer evaluations Ideal candidates will have: - Prior experience managing or mentoring Sales Engineers or serving as a technical team lead in pre-sales, infrastructure, data protection, or security - Strong technical foundation in enterprise data protection, backup/recovery, or cyber resilience - Experience partnering with Information Security, IT, or Infrastructure teams - Understanding of enterprise security concepts, compliance, and customer risk requirements - Working knowledge of on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments - Demonstrated ability to coach and develop technical talent - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience) - Strong communication skills and willingness to travel as needed - Security certifications (CISSP, CISA, CISM) are a plus This role offers the opportunity to grow leadership capabilities while supporting strong sales outcomes through high-quality technical engagement in the data security and management space.
