Checkout.com is a global fintech platform powering over 10 billion transactions yearly for companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony. We're seeking a Manager, Sales Engineering to lead our technical sales efforts in London, supporting clients throughout the entire sales lifecycle—from initial contact through solutioning, integration, and go-live. In this role, you'll provide technical leadership and guidance to clients, primarily in the UK, serving as the technical owner of client relationships. You'll collaborate with Account Executives and internal teams across Technology and Business to position Checkout.com's payments platform, APIs, and solutions effectively with prospects and merchants. Key responsibilities include: - Supporting the commercial team to win deals by positioning products, solutions, and services - Understanding merchant requirements and technical needs, mapping them to APIs and products, and creating solution designs - Running demos, building payment flows, creating POCs, and customizing presentations - Providing thought leadership on Payment Performance, Acceptance Rates, Fraud Prevention, Tokenization, and Payment Methods - Leading all technical interactions with merchants from initial contact through deal closure - Supporting RFP and RFI responses with the BID management team - Enabling internal functions with market and merchant feedback on product capabilities - Staying current with industry standards, solutions, and technology - Being an expert on Checkout.com's platform and product You bring 3-5 years of experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales Consultant, Implementation Engineer, or TAM. You have a strong technical client-facing background with experience in API-based integrations (REST/JSON), familiarity with front-end (JavaScript, React, Angular) and back-end (Java, .NET, Python, Node) technologies, and understanding of end-to-end payment flows. Payments industry exposure with knowledge of regulations, payment schemes, 3DS, Network Tokenization, Apple/Google Pay, Open Banking, or fraud-risk engines is essential. You're a problem-solver who can translate technical jargon for business stakeholders, thrive in fast-paced environments, and drive results with strong commercial focus. Clear written and verbal English is required. Nice-to-have qualifications include familiarity with PSD2/PSD3/PSR and FCA regulations, additional languages, former engineering or product management background, and e-commerce industry experience.
