Checkout.com is a global fintech platform powering over 10 billion transactions yearly for companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony. We're seeking a Manager, Sales Engineering to join our Hong Kong office and lead technical sales efforts across Asia-Pacific. In this role, you'll own the technical side of the sales lifecycle—from initial prospect engagement through integration and go-live. You'll be the bridge between our commercial team and clients, translating complex payment technology into business value. Key responsibilities include: • Partner with Account Executives to position Checkout.com's payment solutions, APIs, and services to win deals • Understand merchant technical requirements and map them to our platform capabilities • Design solutions, create technical documentation, and build proof-of-concept payment flows • Deliver product demos and run technical workshops with merchants and developers • Provide thought leadership on payment performance topics: acceptance rates, fraud prevention, tokenization, and payment methods • Lead all technical interactions with prospects and customers • Support RFP/RFI responses and bid management • Gather market and merchant feedback to inform product improvements • Advise leadership on customer satisfaction issues and recommend actions • Manage multiple concurrent customer projects and integrations You'll need 5+ years in sales engineering, solutions architecture, pre-sales, implementation, or technical account management. A degree in Computer Science or IT is preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience. You must be fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams (developers, product) and business stakeholders (finance, C-level). Required skills include API integration expertise (REST/JSON, Postman), familiarity with front-end (JavaScript, React, Angular) and back-end (Java, .NET, Python, Node) technologies, and deep understanding of end-to-end payment flows. Payments industry experience is essential—knowledge of 3DS, network tokenization, Apple/Google Pay, open banking, and fraud-risk engines is expected. RFI/RFP exposure and understanding of payment schemes and regulations are required. Ideal candidates are problem-solvers who thrive in fast-paced, customer-focused environments. You'll be independent, high-achieving, and driven to exceed targets. Prior engineering, developer, or product management backgrounds are valued, as is e-commerce industry experience.
