Airwallex is a unified payments and financial platform serving over 250,000 global businesses including Brex, Rippling, Navan, and Qantas. The company operates across 27 offices globally with 2,300+ employees and is valued at $11 billion, backed by leading investors including Sequoia, Visa, Mastercard, and T. Rowe Price. You will lead and build the Sales Development function for the Benelux region, owning the outbound pipeline engine for Airwallex's SME & Growth business. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll manage and coach a team of SDRs, establish clear expectations, feedback mechanisms, and progression paths. Key responsibilities include: owning pipeline and performance targets (opportunity creation, pipeline value, conversion, activity levels); building and continuously improving data-driven outbound strategies across priority segments and account plays; partnering with Marketing on campaigns, targeting, messaging, and lead qualification SLAs; collaborating with Account Executives and Revenue Operations to improve qualification and funnel conversion; building and scaling an AI-assisted outbound engine using AI-enabled prospecting and workflow automation; owning SDR playbooks, processes, tooling (Salesforce, sales engagement platforms), and establishing AI guardrails for quality and compliance; and contributing to regional go-to-market strategy by refining value propositions and pitch narratives. You bring experience leading outbound SDR or sales development teams in high-growth tech companies, with a proven track record of hiring and developing early-career sales talent and building repeatable processes. You have strong cross-functional partnership skills across Marketing, Sales, Revenue Operations, and People & Talent. You're proficient with Salesforce or modern CRMs, sales engagement tools, and have hands-on experience implementing AI-enabled prospecting or workflow automation. You communicate effectively in writing, numerically, and verbally, with the ability to simplify complexity and coach effectively. English fluency is required; Dutch is a strong plus. You think strategically, execute pragmatically, and have a bias toward action, continuous improvement, and ownership. Familiarity with payments, FX, cards, treasury, spend management, or complex B2B SaaS is advantageous. The role is based in Amsterdam with a hybrid environment requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
