Clio, a global leader in legal AI technology, is seeking a Manager of Legal Architecture for its SMB sales motion (law firms up to 200 attorneys). This is a new, high-visibility role within the Sales organization reporting to the Director of Legal Architecture.
You will build and lead a team of six Legal Architects—former practicing lawyers—who embed within the sales organization to secure legal credibility in deals, deliver tailored product demonstrations, and elevate legal fluency across Velocity, Strategic, Mid Market, and Government segments. This is a player-coach role requiring hands-on involvement alongside team leadership.
Key responsibilities include: hiring, coaching, and developing the Legal Architect team; setting coverage strategy and managing capacity; building the operating model for a rapidly expanding function; personally leading select strategic accounts, marquee product launches, and thought leadership initiatives; owning the coverage model across segments; scaling enablement programs (standardized demos, playbooks, practice-area content); translating field insights into product direction; and running forecasting, pipeline reviews, and quality assurance.
You bring a Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent with practicing legal experience. You have demonstrated people leadership—either managing teams or excelling in player-coach roles in go-to-market, sales, consulting, legal innovation, or legal tech. You are comfortable in discovery, live demonstrations, and high-stakes client rooms, navigating technical, emotional, and ethical objections with senior legal stakeholders. You have a strong point of view on AI applications in legal work (LLMs, legal drafting, research, agentic workflows) and use AI reflexively in your own work. Exceptional communication, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build in ambiguity are essential.
Hub preference: Vancouver or Toronto, though US-based remote candidates are considered. Part of your team will be remote (US-based), but close in-person collaboration with Sales Managers and Account Executives in hub cities is key.
Clio offers competitive, equitable salary with top-tier health benefits, hybrid work (minimum twice per week in-office for hub locations), flexible time off (20 days encouraged), EAP benefits, 401k matching, and recognition programs.
