Salary: USD 310,000 - 385,000 / annual
Garner Health is transforming the U.S. healthcare system by partnering with employers to redesign how healthcare works. As Engineering Manager, you will lead teams working on Garner's core product, reporting to the Director of Engineering. You'll collaborate closely with product, data, and design teams to build data ingestion systems and new product experiences, including AI enhancements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide technical oversight and drive new features aligned with Garner's strategic mission
- Build a high-performance team through mentoring, feedback, and hiring
- Balance quality with speed of delivery
- Identify bottlenecks and risks across disciplines, propose mitigations, and communicate tradeoffs
- Ensure user privacy and security through best practices
You bring 6+ years of hands-on engineering experience translating ambiguous business requirements into scalable solutions and product features. You have 2+ years managing engineering teams with a proven ability to inspire, motivate, mentor, and retain top talent. You're familiar with web application development, API design, and cloud infrastructure (AWS). You have a strong sense of ownership, proactive problem-solving mindset, and willingness to do whatever is necessary for company success.
The tech stack includes Python, TypeScript, React, NodeJS, Kubernetes, Istio, Postgres, ElasticSearch, NATS, AWS, and Terraform. You thrive in rapidly evolving startup environments and are driven by mission-focused, high-performing teams that operate with intense urgency and authentic feedback.
This role is based in the NYC Financial District office with a requirement to work in-office 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
