Checkout.com is seeking a Manager, Communications to lead communications strategy and execution for a high-growth fintech platform processing over 10 billion transactions annually. This role sits within the Communications and Content team and is ideal for an experienced communications operator who thrives in fast-paced, scaling environments.
You will own multiple dimensions of the communications function: developing and executing owned content strategy that drives business outcomes; identifying, pitching, and placing stories with journalists across trophy, business, and tech press; managing the press office including inbound media requests, interview coordination, and SLA management; building and maintaining relationships with analysts and influential voices in fintech and payments; coordinating multi-channel campaigns and reactive communications briefs; leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity without sacrificing quality; identifying and executing awards and recognition opportunities; and tracking performance metrics to inform strategy refinement.
The ideal candidate brings 8–10 years of communications experience, with substantial time in high-growth tech, fintech, or startup environments. In-house experience is strongly preferred. You have a proven track record of placing stories, not just writing them. You write fluently across formats—press releases, pitches, briefing documents, social copy, short-form content—all at pace. You're comfortable building genuine relationships with journalists, analysts, and influencers. You operate with sharp execution discipline: managing multiple workstreams, hitting deadlines, and running a tight press office. You're self-starting and resilient, comfortable navigating ambiguity without extensive hand-holding. You're data-aware, using analytics to understand what's working and adjusting strategy accordingly.
Checkout.com operates a hybrid model with three days per week in the London office to support collaboration and team connection.
