OpenAI is seeking a Manager of Applied AI Architects based in Paris to lead a team of senior technical leaders across the South EMEA region. This role sits at the intersection of technical strategy, customer partnership, and AI deployment, working with OpenAI's largest and most complex customers to turn frontier AI models into measurable business impact.
You will build and lead a high-performing team of Applied AI Architects who serve as technical advisors and "CTOs of the book of business" for strategic accounts. Your responsibilities include hiring and developing the team, defining the operating model for technical account management across ChatGPT Enterprise, OpenAI API, and agentic AI solutions, and partnering closely with Sales leadership to prioritize accounts and allocate technical resources.
Key responsibilities include: leading complex, multi-threaded customer journeys from executive vision through production deployment; coaching the team on AI architectures spanning models, applications, data integration, security, governance, and enterprise deployment; building trusted relationships with C-suite and board-level stakeholders; mobilizing cross-functional specialists (Deployment Engineering, Product, Research, Security, Legal) to remove blockers; establishing rigorous portfolio health metrics; and translating field patterns into actionable feedback for internal teams.
You will remain hands-on as an executive technical sponsor for critical engagements while developing your team's capabilities. The role requires balancing ambitious customer outcomes with responsible AI deployment, clear ownership, and effective specialist coordination.
The position is hybrid (3 days in office per week) and offers relocation assistance. You'll work closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, Research, and specialist delivery teams across the region.
