The company provides integrated solutions for business accounts, payments, spend management, treasury, and embedded finance at scale. With 2,300+ employees across 27 offices and a $11B valuation, Airwallex is backed by leading investors including Sequoia, Visa, Mastercard, and T. Rowe Price.
As Manager of Account Management, you will lead a team of account managers responsible for growing Airwallex's highest-potential client portfolios. This role combines industry and account strategy with direct people leadership. You'll set performance standards, coach your team on consultative selling and account planning, and drive expansion of client relationships and product adoption across the full Airwallex suite.
Key responsibilities include: leading and developing your account management team with clear goal-setting and performance management; driving portfolio growth and wallet share expansion; identifying workflows and pain points to build repeatable playbooks; gathering market intelligence on industry trends and competitor activity; guiding account strategy around payment flows, FX, and operational needs; maximizing wallet share across payments, collections, transfers, cards, yield, and automation; educating clients on platform capabilities; advocating for product improvements; and collaborating cross-functionally with product, operations, and marketing on pilots and platform optimization.
You'll work with sales, product, operations, marketing, and strategy teams to build customer journeys and translate client insights into business improvements. The ideal candidate combines proven account management or business development expertise with 3-5 years of direct team leadership experience, ideally in a 0-to-1 or rapid growth environment. You should have strong commercial intuition, relationship-building skills, consultative selling ability, and experience in fintech or high-growth startups. The role values hustle, creativity, problem-solving in ambiguity, and a founder-like ownership mentality.
