Gyde is building an AI-native insurance brokerage platform that transforms traditional insurance agencies through acquisition and technology. The company combines acquisition strategy with AI to help brokerages operate more efficiently, serve clients more personally, and scale faster. Gyde's founding team includes veterans from Oscar, Stripe, Vista Equity Partners, and Alpine, and the company recently raised $60M led by Lightspeed Ventures with participation from Optum Ventures, Crystal Venture Partners, and others. As an M&A Analyst, you will be central to Gyde's acquisition engine, which is the primary driver of company growth. You'll own the financial analysis behind every brokerage evaluation, acquisition, and closing. Your work directly determines deal pricing, structure, and investment decisions. Key responsibilities include: - Building and maintaining financial models (EBITDA bridges, quality-of-earnings adjustments, valuation, sources and uses, returns analysis) - Spreading and normalizing seller financials, tax returns, and carrier commission statements into clean, defensible numbers - Pressure-testing seller addbacks and revenue quality (owner compensation, one-time items, carrier concentration, renewal vs. new business, producer dependency) - Drafting analysis, charts, and recommendations for investment committee memos; shaping deal structure (earnouts, rollover equity, retention) - Screening inbound and outbound targets against acquisition criteria; maintaining accurate deal pipeline and trackers - Running diligence request lists end-to-end across financial, legal, compliance, and tax workstreams - Coordinating with third-party advisors on Quality of Earnings, tax, and legal diligence; translating findings into model and structure changes - Supporting signing and closing activities (purchase agreement schedules, working capital, funds flow, closing checklists) - Building and improving AI-assisted workflows, templates, and scorecards to accelerate deal process repeatability - Handing off clean deal data and context to the Value Creation team for integration planning This role is ideal for an analytically rigorous early-career professional from investment banking, private equity, corporate development, transaction advisory, or strategy consulting who wants real ownership on live deals. You'll be equally comfortable reconciling carrier commission statements line-by-line and pressure-testing adjusted EBITDA. Requirements: - 1-3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, transaction advisory/Quality of Earnings, or strategy consulting - Strong command of accounting and financial statements; ability to build three-statement or deal models from scratch - Mastery of EBITDA normalization, addbacks, valuation multiples, debt and equity financing, and returns analysis (MoM and IRR) - Exposure to insurance distribution, brokerage, or healthcare services preferred; familiarity with commission-based revenue models a plus - Practical, daily user of AI tools who can extract reliable output while retaining human judgment - Meticulous attention to detail; numbers tie, sources are cited, assumptions are labeled - Clear, concise writer who can translate complex analysis into actionable recommendations - Entrepreneurial mindset with strong sense of ownership; you want to run the work, not just support it - Ability to manage multiple live deals and competing deadlines without losing detail - Willingness to travel up to ~10% for seller meetings and on-site diligence
