Remote is a global HR platform that enables businesses to recruit, pay, and manage international teams compliantly across 80+ countries. The Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations & Transitions role is a critical position within Remote's Lifecycle team, serving as an extension of clients' HR departments.
In this role, you will manage end-to-end employee exits (offboardings) across multiple international jurisdictions (AMER, EMEA, APAC regions), ensuring legal compliance and delivering superior customer service. You'll handle terminations, resignations, transfers, employment contracts, and redundancy processes while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism in sensitive situations.
Beyond offboarding, you'll provide first-level Employee Relations support, guiding clients through workplace concerns, coordinating appropriate resources, and advising on HR matters spanning various employment law jurisdictions. You'll also contribute to process improvements and strategic initiatives aligned with Remote's values of innovation and excellence.
Key responsibilities include managing complex employee transitions with care and sensitivity, interpreting and applying employment laws across jurisdictions, leading difficult conversations with conflicting parties, maintaining thorough record-keeping and data integrity, and identifying opportunities for automation and process optimization.
You'll work asynchronously in a distributed, international team environment, collaborating across time zones with flexibility and autonomy. The role requires strong HR generalist competencies, proven experience managing voluntary and involuntary exits, excellent communication and conflict management skills, and business-level English proficiency (additional languages a plus). You should be tech-savvy, proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
