Exa is building a search engine for the AI era, having raised $250M Series C at a $2.2B valuation. The company powers agents, Fortune 500s, and AI labs with its Search API, disrupting an industry unchanged since the 1990s. The team of ~100 is based primarily in San Francisco and includes talent from Harvard, MIT, Meta, Google Research, and Y Combinator. You will own two distinct lifecycle marketing motions operating at different speeds: self-serve developer activation and enterprise nurture. On the self-serve side, you drive developers from signup to their first successful API call, then build habits and usage signals indicating real intent. Programs should feel like product guidance rather than generic marketing. On the enterprise side, you build journeys that maintain credibility through long buying cycles—persona-based education, buying committee engagement, stalled opportunity reactivation, and content paths from interest to evaluation. You also own the lifecycle side of the webinar program: audience strategy, promotion, segmentation, and follow-up. PMM, DevRel, founders, and subject matter experts will shape topics and host; you ensure the right people attend and interest converts to meaningful next steps. Key responsibilities include: designing the developer journey from signup through activation thresholds; building product-triggered messaging and recovery sequences; owning enterprise nurture journeys by persona and use case; developing segmentation strategy across developers, product-qualified accounts, enterprise buyers, and dormant prospects; setting quality standards for email copy, subject lines, cadence, and personalization; managing webinar audience strategy and conversion; and building a disciplined experimentation roadmap. This is an AI-first role. You will design AI-powered workflows for drafting, personalization, audience research, journey QA, segmentation, and reporting—using AI to increase quality and speed, not to flood inboxes. Success is measured by signup-to-first-call conversion rates, repeat usage and PQL thresholds, enterprise account engagement, dormant opportunity reactivation, and pipeline progression. The role is based in person at Exa's San Francisco headquarters.
