Notion is seeking an experienced Lifecycle Marketing Manager to develop and execute campaigns that help users discover value, adopt key workflows, and deepen their engagement with Notion's collaborative AI workspace.
You will own campaigns end-to-end: translating business and customer opportunities into clear strategies, defining audiences and journeys, coordinating creative and technical production, launching across email and in-product channels, and measuring incremental impact. This role combines strategic judgment with hands-on execution, requiring close partnership with Lifecycle Marketing, Product Marketing, Product Growth, Data Science, Marketing Operations, and creative partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning a portfolio of launch, one-off, and evergreen lifecycle campaigns with clear prioritization and predictable delivery
- Translating product launches, lifecycle moments, and business priorities into clear objectives, audiences, journeys, channel plans, and success metrics
- Developing campaigns across onboarding, activation, adoption, collaboration, monetization, retention, and resurrection
- Executing from brief to measurement: audience creation, build, QA, localization, launch readiness, and post-campaign analysis across email and in-product messaging
- Auditing existing programs and recommending improvements, rebuilds, or retirements
- Developing testable hypotheses and using segmentation, personalization, holdouts, and A/B tests to understand incremental impact
- Connecting campaigns to activation, product adoption, collaboration, conversion, retention, or qualified sales outcomes
- Coordinating cross-functional dependencies across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Product Marketing, Marketing Operations, Demand Generation, and Sales
- Creating repeatable systems, templates, playbooks, and operating patterns
- Enabling safe self-service execution while maintaining strategic and quality standards
The role is based in either San Francisco or New York City offices, with in-office work required on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (Anchor Days).
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years of relevant and transferrable experience
- Significant experience owning lifecycle, CRM, growth, or product-marketing campaigns from strategy through execution
- Track record of independently leading complex, cross-functional campaigns at meaningful scale
- Strong customer-journey thinking across activation, adoption, engagement, conversion, and retention
- Hands-on experience with a lifecycle platform such as Customer.io, Braze, Iterable, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Strong audience segmentation, personalization, experimentation, and campaign-measurement skills
- Ability to use data to prioritize opportunities and evaluate results; working knowledge of SQL or self-serve analytics is a plus
- Excellent project leadership with clear briefs, dependable execution, proactive risk management, and crisp stakeholder communication
- Strong editorial and customer judgment—preference for sending useful, relevant messages over maximizing message volume
- Comfort operating in a product-led, highly cross-functional environment with incomplete information
- Experience with B2B or product-led growth, product telemetry, in-product messaging, or AI-assisted campaign workflows is a plus
- Intellectual curiosity and excitement about using AI as a real collaborator in work
