SingleStore is seeking a Lead Value Engineer to work directly with sales teams and solutions engineers to identify customer pain points and demonstrate how SingleStore's real-time database platform can solve complex data challenges. In this role, you will engage with both prospective and current clients—including Fortune 50 companies—to understand their technical and business objectives. You will deliver value-based demonstrations, presentations, and support proof-of-concept validations to show how SingleStore removes data bottlenecks and enables real-time analytics capabilities.
Key responsibilities include presenting SingleStore's product offerings to executive and technical audiences, creating and validating TCO calculations and ROI models to demonstrate positive business outcomes, providing feedback to product teams based on customer interactions, and staying current with database technologies and SingleStore's evolving product suite. You will need to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and negotiate complex deals from a value-based selling perspective.
The ideal candidate has either a Master's degree in Computer Science or related field plus 7+ years in technical pre-sales, or an advanced degree (MBA) plus 7+ years in value engineering or management consulting. You should have broad experience with large-scale distributed databases and data warehousing technologies, proficiency in ANSI SQL and analytics tools (Excel, Python), and understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware) and hybrid architectures. Excellent presentation and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to present to C-Suite executives, are essential.
