Salary: USD 146,000 - 225,000 / annual
Affirm is seeking a Lead, Technical Account Management to oversee a team of Technical Account Managers (TAMs) supporting SMB merchants. In this role, you will coach, mentor, and develop experienced TAMs responsible for the technical success of merchants post-sale, guiding them through product integration, expansion, and optimization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coach and mentor a team of TAMs supporting SMB merchants
- Collaborate with Client Success teams to help merchants grow and leverage Affirm's expanding product suite
- Establish and track team OKRs and goals, creating proactive action plans
- Forecast TAM demand and lead recruitment efforts
- Evaluate new hires on technical capabilities, handle team escalations, and provide guidance on integration solutions and optimization opportunities
- Serve as an internal advocate for merchants, working cross-functionally to address their priorities
- Be recognized as a technical expert by customers
You will work closely with Client Success, Product Management, Operations, and Merchant Care teams. The TAM team is part of the Engineering organization.
Required qualifications:
- At least 5 years in B2B customer-facing technical roles
- At least 3 years as a people manager
- Strong technical background in web development technologies and REST APIs
- Computer Science degree or equivalent professional engineering experience
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- Ability to quickly build rapport with engineering customers
- Strong internal and external advocacy skills
Bonus experience includes solutions for e-commerce or in-store retailers. This is a remote-first role with flexibility to work from anywhere in the US.
