DeepL is seeking a Lead Solutions Consultant for the Asia-Pacific Japan (APJ) region to serve as the technical authority on DeepL's Language AI platform for enterprise customers. Based in Tokyo with a hybrid schedule, you will work primarily with Japanese enterprise clients while supporting key deals across the APJ region.
You will own complex account and deal strategy alongside sales teams, designing technical solutions that align DeepL's AI translation, Language AI workflows, APIs, and real-time voice translation capabilities with customer business objectives and existing systems. This is a hands-on role: you will build demos, prototypes, POCs, and proof-of-value environments yourself rather than delegating to others.
Key responsibilities include leading technical discovery across DeepL's full product suite; designing and executing custom demonstrations and prototypes for enterprise stakeholders including C-suite executives; providing expert guidance on APIs, SSO (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect), real-time streaming, and enterprise security/compliance requirements; and building reusable assets and frameworks (demo environments, ROI models, standard proposals, discovery methodologies, best practices) that elevate team performance across deals.
You will mentor other solutions consultants, drive post-deal retrospectives to identify improvement opportunities, and serve as a trusted advisor who translates industry trends and competitive insights to both customers and internal product/engineering teams. You will work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, product, and customer success to shape account strategy and influence product roadmap priorities based on customer insights.
The Japan team is small, so individual impact is high. You will own both building new capabilities and improving existing processes, with autonomy to define playbooks, standardize discovery approaches, and establish best practices that scale across the region.
