DeepL is seeking a Lead Solutions Consultant for the Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) region, based in Tokyo. This is a senior technical role serving as the primary solutions voice for DeepL's Language AI platform across the region, with primary focus on Japanese enterprise customers and strategic opportunities elsewhere in APJ.
You will be a hands-on technical consultant, working directly with the product to build demos, prototypes, and proof-of-value environments. The role sits at the intersection of enterprise strategy, solution architecture, and complex deal execution, requiring direct engagement with enterprise customers, partners, and stakeholders from day one.
Key responsibilities include partnering with Account Executives on account strategy for strategic and complex customers; acting as a trusted technical advisor mapping DeepL's platform to customer business goals and integration needs; leading technical discovery and designing tailored demos, presentations, prototypes, and POCs across the full platform (translation, APIs, Voice); providing expert guidance on APIs, SSO, real-time streaming, and enterprise security/compliance; and creating scalable frameworks and assets that improve team performance.
You will lead retrospectives on won and lost opportunities, identify root causes of gaps, and drive process improvements. You'll mentor other Solutions Consultants and colleagues in Sales and Customer Success on discovery, demos, stakeholder management, and deal strategy. Additionally, you'll act as a thought leader with customers, speaking on industry trends and customer implementations, and serve as the voice of the customer internally by surfacing field insights to Product and Engineering.
The role offers unusually large scope for individual impact in a small, growing team. You'll create missing assets and improve existing ones, taking a leading role in playbooks, demo assets, and discovery frameworks the team relies on. The emphasis is on widening conversations from individual use cases to enterprise workflows and business outcomes.
