Cardless is building infrastructure for companies to design, build, and launch their own branded financial products. The company powers credit card issuance for partners like Coinbase and Bilt, handling lending, compliance, and operations while partners control the customer experience. Recently raised $60M Series C (total $170M funded), with 70+ employees and a path to profitability by end of 2026.
As Senior Product Manager for Risk & Fraud, you will own the long-term vision and roadmap for risk and fraud systems across application fraud, account takeover, transaction fraud, ongoing account risk, and disputes. You'll leverage Cardless's unique position combining partner data with behavioral and financial signals from the platform to build a powerful decisioning system.
Key responsibilities include: setting vision and roadmap for risk/fraud systems; turning platform data into competitive advantage by combining partner, behavioral, financial, and network signals; owning how risk decisions are made from signals and models through rules, thresholds, and actions; advancing decisioning with AI/ML to improve detection and adapt to emerging fraud patterns; ensuring all decisions are explainable and auditable; making strategic build-vs-buy decisions across the risk stack; designing risk capabilities that work across partners and products without creating one-off systems; and defining how risk performance is measured and communicated to stakeholders.
You'll work cross-functionally with engineering, data science, compliance, and operations teams to balance loss prevention with customer friction and partner economics.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Built or owned fraud, risk, or decisioning products at a bank, issuer, processor, fintech, or fraud/identity company with understanding of how rapidly the space evolves
- Strong point of view on AI/ML applications in risk decisioning, able to translate vision into better decisions and outcomes
- Highly analytical; comfortable working directly with data to investigate patterns, test hypotheses, and derive answers independently
- Technical strength; comfortable going deep with engineers and data scientists on signals, models, rules engines, decision flows, and edge cases
- Systems thinker who can turn complexity into clear product direction, connecting risk decisions to customer experience, compliance, operations, and partner economics
- Excellent communicator who makes complex risk problems understandable and clearly explains priorities and rationale
