Lighthouse is an AI-powered commercial strategy platform for hospitality, trusted by 85,000+ users across 185 countries including all top 15 global hotel chains. With $370M in Series C funding and $100M+ ARR, the company is scaling rapidly across 850+ employees in 35 countries. As a Lead Platform Engineer on the Frontend Platform team, you will drive frontend infrastructure and tooling initiatives that accelerate the entire engineering organization. This is a hands-on, high-impact role focused on three core areas: (1) leading Lighthouse's migration from Ember to React with education, tooling, and guardrails; (2) strengthening the design system as a foundation for product experiences and AI-generated interfaces; and (3) owning AI-assisted frontend development tooling and workflows. You will set direction for major initiatives by translating broad goals into clear, actionable plans. You'll partner closely with product engineers and solution architects to understand their needs, shape the platform roadmap, and drive adoption. Key responsibilities include improving frontend code quality and consistency across human engineers and AI agents, establishing foundations for generative UI, enhancing the frontend harness to enable safer contributions, and investing in shared infrastructure and delivery pipelines. You bring senior-level frontend expertise with strong React and TypeScript fluency, enabling you to guide engineers toward effective patterns and high-quality decisions. You have expert-level experience with at least one AI development tool and understand how to create context, workflows, and guardrails for effective AI-assisted development. Strong project-management habits, comfort working beyond application code (tooling, cloud infrastructure, pipelines), and clear communication with cross-functional teams are essential. You are pragmatic and product-minded, defending best practices while choosing battles by impact, and you naturally take initiative while remaining open to feedback. The role is based in Brussels, Belgium, with hybrid flexibility. Lighthouse offers competitive benefits including flexible time off, career development programs, mobility budget/company car, home office allowance, lunch and eco vouchers, comprehensive health insurance, pension funding, and referral bonuses.
