Salary: USD 159,000 - 242,000 / annual

Thumbtack is seeking a Lead Internal Communications Manager to serve as a senior strategist and thought leader on internal communications. You'll own the development and execution of high-impact strategies spanning internal communications, employer brand, and executive messaging, driving alignment across the organization. In this high-visibility role, you'll independently lead multi-year communications initiatives, manage complex stakeholder relationships end-to-end, and serve as a trusted partner to senior leaders and cross-functional teams. You'll develop and execute global internal communications strategies that connect business priorities to clear, consistent messaging across teams and audiences. You'll drive long-term, high-impact communications initiatives from strategy through execution, establishing communications frameworks and best practices that improve consistency, effectiveness, and organizational alignment. Key responsibilities include advising senior leaders on communications strategy and shaping executive messaging during high-stakes business moments; establishing success metrics for communications programs and using insights to continuously improve strategy; shaping executive and enterprise communications including all-hands presentations, AMAs, leadership updates, and company announcements; influencing cross-functional partners across Brand & Communications, Marketing, People, Engineering, Product, and other business functions; and leveraging AI to accelerate research, drafting, synthesis, and iteration while maintaining editorial quality. You'll need 8+ years of experience in internal or executive communications with a proven track record of independently leading enterprise communications strategies that shape business priorities and drive measurable organizational impact. Success leading communications for company-wide moments such as all-hands meetings, AMAs, executive announcements, reorganizations, and culture initiatives is essential. You must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong executive presence, ability to advise senior leaders on messaging and organizational change, and the capability to establish scalable communications programs using data-driven insights. Exceptional editorial judgment and thoughtful integration of AI into communications workflows are critical.
