We are seeking a hands-on Senior Frontend Engineer to own our frontend architecture and user experience. You will design, build, and maintain complex web applications from the ground up while working closely with product and backend teams. This role requires high technical autonomy, deep production discipline, and a strong sense of ownership.
Key responsibilities include:
• Architect custom client-side state management and data-fetching systems using raw fetch APIs, AbortController, signal composition, request deduplication, cache freshness strategies, and structured error envelopes with correlation IDs—without relying on heavy external state libraries.
• Author and maintain production design-system primitives using React 18 and utility-first Tailwind CSS, ensuring high-fidelity UI consistency across the platform.
• Build complex clinical workflows including multi-section forms with field-level validation, partial-save and dirty-state handling, server-side error mapping, and strict date/timezone handling (TZ=America/New_York).
• Enforce strict quality and accessibility standards by writing accessible UI patterns (focus trapping, keyboard navigation, aria-invalid, dynamic live regions) and maintaining high test coverage using Vitest and React Testing Library.
• Protect patient privacy by maintaining strict client-side PHI guards, ensuring logs, analytics, and third-party tools remain completely free of sensitive patient data (HIPAA compliance).
• Collaborate across the stack by tracing API contracts into backend source code (Python/FastAPI) and implementing router-level authorization models with feature flags.
Required qualifications include deep mastery of React 18 hooks discipline, context composition, dynamic imports (lazy/Suspense), and custom client-side state solutions; advanced TypeScript; and experience building production-grade web applications with accessibility and performance as first-class concerns.
