Dashlane, a credential security platform trusted by millions of consumers and 25,000+ brands worldwide, is seeking an experienced Lead Accountant to own financial operations for its French entity based in Paris. You will report directly to the US-based VP, Global Controller and serve as the primary local finance lead, managing end-to-end accounting operations for the French office while collaborating with international teams across the US and Portugal.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the complete month-end close process for the French entity and maintaining local accounting books in collaboration with the global accounting team
- Leading the annual French Statutory Audit, managing tax and VAT filings, and coordinating the annual CIR (Crédit d'Impôt Recherche) preparation with Engineering
- Partnering with the Global Controller on the annual US GAAP audit, internal controls, and special international accounting projects
- Managing US GAAP ASC 606 revenue recognition, supporting payment automation, and overseeing B2B invoicing, AR collections, and local compliance
- Monitoring third-party payroll journal entries and accruals, processing vendor bills and credit cards with proper GL coding, managing T&E compliance, and performing balance sheet reconciliations
- Optimizing French accounting systems (Pennylane ERP) and leading project management for 2027 French e-invoicing compliance initiatives across AP and AR
- Navigating ambiguity to make sound accounting decisions with incomplete data in a fast-paced environment, balancing technical precision with operational flexibility
- Fostering an open, supportive environment by sharing knowledge, managing workload to hit tight deadlines, and collaborating across global and local teams
- Building strong professional relationships with external third parties including payroll vendors, audit firms, and statutory partners
- Creating and regularly updating internal process documentation to ensure financial data integrity
- Modernizing French accounting operations by adopting AI-assisted tools and automated workflows to accelerate reconciliations, month-end close, AR/AP, and accruals
You will be based in Paris with a hybrid work arrangement: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in-office; Wednesday and Friday remote. English and French are your working languages.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent
- 7+ years of relevant accounting and tax experience
- Strong French Statutory accounting knowledge
- GAAP ASC 606 Revenue Recognition knowledge, particularly within subscription or multi-channel B2B payment models
- Fluency in French and English (spoken and written)
- Experience with Pennylane and NetSuite or other large ERP systems (or similar modern financial platforms)
- Strong Excel skills for complex data analysis, reconciliations, and financial modeling
- Attention to detail and accuracy with a structured and autonomous working style
- Pragmatic business judgment and ability to balance technical accounting precision with operational speed, applying a sharp sense of materiality to navigate ambiguity and solve complex issues in a fast-paced environment
- Genuine passion for sharing knowledge and fostering an open, supportive team environment, focusing on coaching, empowering, and elevating colleagues
- Exceptional communication and diplomacy skills to build seamless, high-trust relationships across international internal teams and key external partners
- Proven ability to take full accountability for local financial outcomes, bringing a proactive, solution-oriented approach to organizing priorities, resolving operational challenges, and consistently delivering under tight deadlines
Desirable qualifications:
- US GAAP accounting knowledge
- Strong enthusiasm for AI and digital transformation, with a drive to leverage modern AI tools and workflow automation
- Direct hands-on experience coordinating annual French R&D tax credit (CIR) preparations alongside technical and engineering teams
- Flexibility to collaborate across time zones and enthusiasm to connect in person at global hubs in Lisbon and the US 2–3 times per year
