Salary: USD 95,550 - 148,470 / annual
STOKE Space is building Nova, a fully reusable launch vehicle designed for daily flight operations. The company is developing ground systems and launch infrastructure at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station to support high-cadence, reliable space transportation.
As a Launch Engineer focused on Tooling & Fabrication, you will design, fabricate, test, and operate ground support equipment (GSE) and tooling critical to launch operations. Your responsibilities include:
• Design and fabricate launch site tooling, including fabrication aids, test fixtures, and vehicle-interfacing GSE
• Upgrade, modify, and maintain existing tooling and GSE to improve launch operations
• Collaborate with rocket engineers, technicians, and vendors to plan and execute fabrication, testing, and installation of equipment
• Generate and maintain workflow documentation and procedures
• Drive continuous improvements to enable high-cadence launch and recovery operations
You will work in a small, well-resourced team at a fast-paced launch facility. The role requires hands-on problem-solving, real-time troubleshooting, and the ability to self-direct while learning rapidly.
Required qualifications include 2+ years of launch site or high-performance hardware facility experience, strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, proficiency with NX/Teamcenter CAD, knowledge of machining/welding/GD&T, familiarity with hydraulics and pressurized systems, understanding of ASME/AWS standards and AFSPCMAN 91-710 range requirements, and a bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering. Preferred experience includes 4+ years in launch operations, FEM analysis tools (Ansys, Femap), and industrial equipment operation.
