TheFork, a leading European restaurant booking platform owned by Tripadvisor, is hiring a Mandarin-speaking Key Account Manager to drive new business acquisition in the Chinese restaurant sector across the UK. This is a field-based role (approximately 70% time in territory) focused on prospecting, acquiring, and onboarding high-potential independent restaurants, restaurant groups, and strategic accounts within the Chinese and wider Asian dining community.
You will own your territory end-to-end, responsible for building a self-generated pipeline through cold outreach, walk-ins, referrals, and local market mapping. Day-to-day activities include prospecting new restaurants, conducting in-person meetings and product demonstrations, managing the sales pipeline from first contact through negotiation and closing, and sharing market insights with the broader sales team. The role requires flexibility to adapt your schedule around restaurant availability, including occasional evening meetings.
Success metrics are clearly defined: within 60 days, you should demonstrate rapid product knowledge acquisition, build a qualified pipeline, maintain consistent daily activity (calls, visits, meetings, follow-ups), and close 10+ deals independently. Beyond 60 days, you'll reach full productivity on quarterly acquisition targets, manage your territory proactively, generate approximately 10 meetings per week and 30+ new opportunities monthly, and become the internal expert on the Chinese and Asian restaurant segment in your region.
Essential qualifications include fluency in Mandarin and English (spoken and written), 4+ years of sales experience (ideally in B2B, field sales, hospitality tech, food service, or restaurant environments), proven ability to prospect and close deals independently, strong commercial mindset with negotiation skills, resilience in a target-driven environment, and excellent organizational abilities. Nice-to-have strengths include prior experience selling to Asian-owned businesses, a strong local network within the Chinese or Asian hospitality community, genuine passion for hospitality and restaurant technology, competitive drive, and proficiency with digital tools and CRM systems.
TheFork operates across 11 European countries and is part of the Tripadvisor Group. The company emphasizes a people-first culture built on values of respect, ownership, growth, and collaboration. You'll join a diverse, multicultural team spanning multiple European offices.
