Adyen is a global financial technology platform providing payments, data, and financial products for major customers including Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. The company is seeking an Internal Control Specialist focused on technology risk to join the global Internal Control team in Amsterdam.
In this role, you will assess and strengthen Adyen's global technology processes and internal control framework to support the company's rapid growth while meeting internal and external regulatory expectations. You will operate proactively and independently within a complex, global environment, contributing to controlled business expansion while preserving company culture and long-term goals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strengthening and managing the global internal control framework and advising management on internal control matters
- Evaluating Adyen's processes, risks, controls, and technology to identify improvement and automation opportunities
- Coordinating and performing control testing, reporting on the effectiveness of risk and control systems
- Managing regulatory and auditor requests to ensure successful audit cycles (SOC1/SOC2 audits)
- Building trusted advisor relationships across the business and management
- Collaborating with peers on the Internal Control team to manage the global framework and contribute to strategic projects

Requirements:
- Approximately 4–7 years of relevant working experience in IT audit, IT risk management, or internal control functions
- Experience with IT risk management and designing and testing IT controls (payments industry experience not required)
- Knowledge of IT processes, IT risks, and building internal control frameworks
- Ability to operate comfortably and independently in a fast-paced global environment
- Strong critical thinking skills and eagerness to understand emerging internal and external developments
- Enthusiasm for working in an innovative technology company within the financial sector
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
