Shield AI, a venture-backed defense-tech company, is seeking an Internal Communications Manager to lead strategic communications for organizational change, M&A integration, and people programs. You will develop clear, compelling employee communications across multiple channels—including announcements, FAQs, talking points, manager toolkits, presentations, intranet content, and Teams—translating complex information into messages that anticipate employee questions and concerns. Your responsibilities include managing communications plans, calendars, project trackers, and approval workflows across concurrent initiatives; partnering with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to align messaging, timing, and delivery; supporting executive communications including company meetings and leadership updates; flagging communications risks and employee-impact issues early with recommended solutions; and gathering employee feedback to refine messaging. You'll work in a fast-paced, high-growth defense and aerospace environment with global operations. The role requires 5–7 years of internal, change, or corporate communications experience, with demonstrated expertise in M&A communications, organizational change, technology transformation, or large-scale business initiatives. You must excel at writing, copy-editing, and presentation development with meticulous attention to detail, manage competing priorities across multiple projects, and handle confidential information with sound judgment and discretion. Preferred experience includes presenting to executive audiences, developing transparent change communications that build trust, proficiency with Microsoft 365 (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint) and project-management tools, and background in high-growth tech, aerospace, defense, or regulated industries.
