Salary: USD 160,000 - 200,000 / annual

Airbnb's Internal Communications team is seeking an experienced communications professional to serve as a strategic partner to VP-level leaders in the technology organization, with a particular focus on AI and data science initiatives. You will be responsible for translating complex technical work into compelling, clear messages for both technical and non-technical employee audiences across the company's 8,000+ global workforce. Your primary responsibilities include: - Partnering strategically with VP-level client leaders, providing counsel, feedback, and presentation coaching during Pacific Time core hours - Developing high-quality executive materials including leader-voice Slack posts, email communications, thought leadership pieces, all-hands narratives, organizational change communications, and short-form scripts with emphasis on emerging technology topics - Translating deeply technical work into accessible messaging for diverse employee audiences - Shaping and aligning functional narratives to broader company priorities, ensuring the technology organization's story connects to Airbnb's overall direction - Owning the design and production of high-impact connection moments (all-hands meetings, forums, leadership offsites), including narrative development, presentation building, and presenter coaching - Serving as a trusted editor for the wider communications team, strengthening channel standards and helping quality scale across the organization - Leading or supporting change management, crisis communications, and special projects The role requires an entrepreneurial approach—both setting high-level strategic direction and executing hands-on tactical work. You will proactively influence stakeholders, drive for clarity, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-moving environment with multiple concurrent projects, deadlines, and personalities. You will help raise the editorial bar across the internal communications practice, set and steward the internal voice and style, and contribute to the editorial direction of the team's work. **Requirements:** - 10+ years in strategic internal communications, editorial work, or journalism - Relevant degree in Journalism, Communications, PR, or related field - Track record of producing work to consistently high standards - Exceptional writing and editing skills (creative, concise, hyper-clear); ability to transform dense or messy drafts into polished work under deadline - Demonstrated fluency with AI and other technical subject matter, with genuine curiosity about product development - Proven ability to counsel senior leaders with strong editorial judgment and news sense - End-to-end communications practitioner experience: develops and executes tailored messaging, campaigns (planning, research, writing, editing, distribution, measurement), and designs effective communications programs and channels - Strong presentation and interpersonal skills; fluency in Google Slides and Keynote - Self-directed and collaborative with strong analytical problem-solving abilities - Ability to quickly learn new subject areas and client organizations - Highly organized and resourceful with excellent project management, attention to detail, urgency, and follow-through - Commitment to confidentiality, sound judgment, and business ethics - Alignment with and passion for Airbnb's mission and community Note: This is a US remote-eligible position. You must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity (certain states are excluded; check Airbnb's careers page for the current list). The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites as agreed with your manager.
