This role sits at the intersection of product, brand, creative, media, and go-to-market strategy, partnering with PMM, Product, Developer Relations, Design, Communications, and agency partners.
You will shape how OpenAI engages with developers, founders, startups, and engineering teams building with OpenAI's technology. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute marketing strategies tailored to how technical audiences discover, evaluate, and adopt tools
- Partner with creative, media, and production agencies to develop briefs, evaluate concepts, and bring campaigns to market
- Establish agency relationships, manage campaign budgets, and oversee paid media investments
- Manage integrated campaigns across product launches, developer events, startup initiatives, and community programs
- Shape campaign positioning, creative concepts, storytelling, and channel strategy with strong creative judgment
- Identify compelling developers and companies building with OpenAI and tell their stories in thoughtful ways
- Measure campaign performance across awareness, engagement, consideration, and product adoption, using insights to improve future work
Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of experience in developer marketing, integrated brand marketing, creative/media agencies, product marketing, or related technology marketing roles. You should have deep curiosity about technology, actively explore AI products, and understand APIs, models, and developer tools. You can earn credibility with engineers and technical teams while translating complex ideas for broader founder and business audiences. Strong brand, media, and creative judgment is essential, along with experience selecting and managing agencies. You're high-agency, comfortable with ambiguity, able to push back constructively, and operate as a strategic partner.
