OpenAI's Marketing team seeks an experienced Integrated Marketing Lead to spearhead policy- and reputation-focused campaigns that strengthen the OpenAI brand nationally and within local communities. This role combines national paid media with locally tailored marketing and engagement efforts, targeting policymakers, civic leaders, and the broader public.
You will lead integrated campaigns and corporate communications initiatives that help audiences understand why OpenAI builds, the impact of its technology, and how the company engages with consequential AI issues including infrastructure and data centers, jobs and economic opportunity, and youth safety. The ideal candidate understands policy, public affairs, and civic audiences while being a sophisticated brand marketer who can make complex subjects accessible and meaningful.
Key responsibilities include developing integrated marketing strategies that communicate OpenAI's mission and real-world impact; leading national paid-media campaigns alongside locally tailored efforts; translating nuanced topics into clear, credible narratives for diverse audiences; managing full campaign lifecycles from strategy through measurement; ensuring policy communications strengthen the broader brand; partnering with creative teams and external agencies; driving cross-functional collaboration with Global Affairs, Communications, Research, and Product; building deep audience and market insights; and establishing measurement frameworks to continuously improve strategy.
You bring 12+ years of integrated marketing, brand marketing, corporate reputation, public affairs, or advertising experience, including significant leadership of complex, high-profile campaigns. You have strong understanding of policymakers and civic stakeholders; demonstrated ability to translate complex subjects into accessible stories; proven success with national and local campaigns informed by regional context; substantial paid-media campaign experience across television, digital, social, print, audio, and out-of-home; expertise managing integrated campaigns across paid, owned, earned, and community channels; exceptional judgment navigating sensitive, fast-moving issues; strong executive communication and influence skills; cross-functional leadership experience; and comfort operating in fast-paced, evolving environments. Technology policy campaign experience is preferred.
