TRM Labs is seeking an Insights Editor to lead the creation of data-driven intelligence products that establish TRM as the most trusted public source on crypto-related financial crime. You will develop reports, briefs, and insights blogs for law enforcement, regulators, financial institutions, and the broader public.
In this role, you will lead intelligence product development by generating, scoping, editing, and distributing products for both public and private distribution. You'll produce scoping documents defining key questions, core narratives, and data requirements in partnership with analytical teams and subject-matter experts. You own the full editorial process from concept through publication, maintaining a recurring cadence of proactive products while also producing quick-turn reactive content responding to sanctions announcements, enforcement actions, and breaking developments in crypto crime.
You will write, edit, and de-risk content for clarity, structure, style, and impact while adhering to TRM's voice and legal guidelines. You'll verify accuracy of data, references, and claims by working with analysts, data teams, and AI tools. You'll provide perspective on visual representations of data and narratives, collaborating with design and analytics teams.
You'll partner closely with threat intelligence, global investigations, data science, product, policy, and marketing teams to identify impactful stories from data and investigative work. You'll scan the landscape—media, policy, enforcement actions, internal intelligence—to propose timely, differentiated storylines and act as a thought partner to analysts and investigators.
You'll operate and improve the production engine by managing project plans, milestones, and stakeholder communication. You'll ensure each product follows a clear narrative spine, uses consistent terminology and formatting, and aligns with TRM's risk appetite and strategic priorities.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, International Relations, Government, Economics, Security Studies, or related field; 7+ years of professional experience writing and editing data- or research-driven content (investigative reporting, think tank/policy research, intelligence analysis); exceptional command of English; demonstrated experience editing others' work; strong research and fact-checking skills; ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. Familiarity with cryptocurrency, blockchain, financial crime, or adjacent domains is important, as is comfort collaborating with data teams and using AI tools while maintaining quality standards.
