Writer is an enterprise generative AI platform trusted by leading companies like Mars, Marriott, Uber, and Vanguard to build and deploy AI agents grounded in company data. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring the platform's availability, performance, and reliability 24/7—directly impacting hundreds of enterprise customers. You'll work across the full infrastructure stack, bringing deep focus to one substantial initiative at a time (on-call posture, release pipelines, multi-region deployments, internal platforms) while maintaining breadth across SRE, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Platform engineering. Your mission is to eliminate toil, automate operational tasks, and design out manual work rather than staffing it up. Key responsibilities include designing scalable, fault-tolerant infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure using Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform; leading incident response and root-cause analysis; defining and upholding SLOs and error budgets; and balancing immediate critical work with 6–12-month platform direction. You'll integrate AI agents (Claude Code, Droid, Codex) into your daily workflow to investigate incidents, draft infrastructure changes, write runbooks, and review PRs—building agentic setups where humans and digital teammates work as one. You'll own end-to-end reliability and performance of core services, collaborate cross-functionally with product, security, and engineering teams, and provide expert guidance on system design from conception through launch. Requirements: 5+ years in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or similar roles at high-growth product companies; production experience with containerization (Kubernetes/Helm), Terraform or Pulumi on at least one major cloud (AWS preferred), and Python or Go proficiency. Critically, AI tooling must already be part of your daily workflow—agentic tools are a hard requirement, not optional. You should demonstrate first-principles thinking, proactively identify systemic weaknesses, and reason from constraints and failure modes rather than defaults.
