Onebrief builds collaboration and AI-powered workflow software for military planning and operational coordination. The Infrastructure team owns the platform that delivers Onebrief's software to military staffs, spanning Kubernetes clusters in commercial and government cloud, application streaming for thin-client users on classified networks, a unified artifact pipeline that signs and ships builds to every environment, and air-gapped appliances at forward sites.
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will architect, build, and run the platform end-to-end, including RFCs, PRDs, and production code alongside Product and Engineering teammates. The work cuts across cloud-native deployments, edge appliances, data platforms, and the application streaming layer that enables Onebrief on classified environments. You'll partner with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) and mission owners on STIGs, CVE remediation, audit preparation, and controls work for IL5, IL6, and JWICS environments.
Key responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, iterating, and deploying secure production systems across cloud-native and edge appliance deployments; embedding with cross-functional teams to advise on infrastructure, security, and deployment best practices; owning end-to-end infrastructure outcomes for critical programs; and hardening the artifact pipeline to ensure the same signed builds run across cloud, single-tenant high-side, and air-gapped appliance deployments.
Required qualifications: 5+ years operating production infrastructure in DevOps/DevSecOps, Platform, SRE, Cloud, or Infrastructure roles; full-stack engineering experience with modern backend languages (Go, Python, Rust, TypeScript); deep production Kubernetes experience including operators, networking, storage, and multi-cluster operations; expertise with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure); strong application and infrastructure security fundamentals; demonstrated ability to build solutions from scratch and integrate disparate applications; experience packaging workloads for disconnected or air-gapped environments; and ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
Nice-to-have qualifications include active US SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance, government cloud expertise (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government), FedRAMP/IL4/IL5/IL6/JWICS exposure, audit experience, big data and distributed systems experience, and prior defense or regulated industry experience.
