Cloudflare is seeking an Indirect Tax Analyst to join its tax and finance team in Austin. The role focuses on indirect tax compliance across US and international jurisdictions, including VAT, GST, sales tax, use tax, and property tax. You will report to the Director of Tax and collaborate with cross-functional business partners.
Key responsibilities include preparing indirect tax compliance filings and supporting financial documentation; conducting monthly tax reconciliations and journal entries; maintaining exemption certificates and tax ID information; ensuring timely and accurate filings to minimize assessments and penalties through tax calendar management; assisting with audit requests and special projects; processing payment requests and submissions; reconciling data between systems for accuracy; researching indirect tax matters and law updates; participating in indirect tax reserve and budget calculations; and driving digital transformation of the tax function through process improvements, automation, and AI-enabled solutions.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; 2+ years of experience at a public accounting firm and/or corporate tax department of a multinational company; proficiency in Excel and AI technology; strong attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving skills; proactive and inquisitive mindset; strong written and verbal communication skills for internal and external interactions.
Nice-to-have qualifications include international VAT knowledge, experience in both public accounting and technology industry, and familiarity with Oracle and AI tools.
