Salary: CAD 50,000 - 60,000 / annual

Aspect Biosystems is seeking an In Vivo Technician to join its In Vivo team in Vancouver. Reporting to the Scientist, In Vivo, you will support the execution of preclinical in vivo studies for a biotechnology company developing regenerative medicines using bioengineered cellular therapies. Key Responsibilities: - Participate in experimental preparation, setup, and takedown for in vivo studies - Assist in executing in vivo study procedures while ensuring adherence to proper animal care practices - Perform standard animal handling tasks including restraint, dosing (IP, SQ, IV, PO), and blood sampling - Conduct scheduled health observations and assessments; promptly report anomalies and update data spreadsheets - Perform post-operative care and monitoring - Carry out necropsies and tissue collection with timely sample delivery - Maintain accurate records including animal monitoring sheets, room logs, health reports, cage cards, and autoclave logs - Contribute to maintaining and improving standard operating procedures for in vivo studies - Communicate findings and updates to internal teams through experimental summaries and presentations - Manage inventories and facility consumables - Ensure biosecurity controls including cleaning, sanitizing, and environmental monitoring of the animal facility - Follow standard operating procedures, safety measures, and quality assurance standards Qualifications & Experience: - Education: Diploma or BSc in a relevant discipline - Required Experience: At least 1 year of experience in in vivo research or exposure to rodent handling - Ideal Certification: Completion of UBC animal care training and lab rodent courses (or willingness to complete training) - Comfort with Rodents: Ability to work comfortably with rodents in a research setting (training and support provided) - Adaptability: Highly adaptable, agile, and poised when faced with change, ambiguity, and competing priorities - Collaboration: Thrive in multi-disciplinary team environments and believe in the value of working together
