Conveo is building AI-powered consumer understanding infrastructure that enables major CPG, tech, and research organizations to stay connected to consumers through AI-led video conversations. The company is scaling rapidly off a strong Series A trajectory. As Head of Video Content, you will own the entire content engine end-to-end, building Conveo into a recognizable media brand with video as its spine. This is a builder's role with significant hands-on involvement in the early stages, supported by budget to hire editors, freelancers, and production crews. Your core responsibilities span four areas: 1. SET THE SLATE AND DIRECT HERO FILMS: Build and own the narrative slate around customer stories and landmark studies. Own the video spine of every hero campaign from concept through final cut. Find angles, shape narratives, run productions, and deliver final cuts. 2. BUILD REPEATABLE FORMATS: Shape the podcast as a format with guest thesis, episode arcs, and clip strategy. Turn 40+ annual events into a content engine with deliberate capture and clip libraries. Invent, test, and retire formats based on brand proof and repeatability. 3. RUN THE PRODUCTION MACHINE: Own the clipping and repurposing pipeline for cutdowns, social clips, and channel-native edits. Build and manage the production bench of freelancers, editors, motion designers, and crews. Systematize craft through briefs, shot lists, templates, and pipelines that improve quality and reduce cost with scale. 4. STEWARD THE BRAND: Define and enforce quality standards across all Conveo-branded video content. Direct founders and experts on camera. Work with thought leadership to showcase research expertise through hero videos. Success within 6-12 months means Conveo has a recognizable video presence people watch intentionally, with formats shipping on rhythm. Every hero campaign has a film at its center, every event returns as a clip library, the podcast runs as a real format with thesis and guest slate, and the production bench executes against documented quality standards without your involvement in every frame. REQUIREMENTS (Must-Haves): - Owned or run a video studio, production company, or in-house video function with demonstrated systems and experience - Directed and produced video: can brief a DOP, run shoot days, manage edits, and hit budgets - Excellent editor in your own right; role starts very hands-on and your cuts set the bar for the bench - Sharp story editor across lengths (90-minute podcasts, 3-minute hero films, 30-second clips) - Exceptional storyteller at both altitudes: individual pieces land on their own, and formats/throughlines build one coherent on-brand narrative - Orchestrator comfortable building and running a bench of freelancers, editors, motion designers, and crews - Hands-on experience in scale-ups: ship first, then systematize Mindset: - Hungry to build a company into a media brand; student of companies that have done this - Thinks in formats and slates; judges ideas by what they prove about brand and repeatability - High agency, low ego: willing to hold the camera one day and present to founders the next - Taste with a spine: defends quality bar even when deadlines pressure Nice-to-Have: - B2B software, market research, or insights industry exposure - Motion design or animation literacy - AI-assisted production workflows in practice (editing, repurposing, versioning at scale)
