Slip Robotics is a B2B Robotics-as-a-Service company deploying autonomous loading and unloading robots at warehouse and fulfillment sites across North America. The Head of Sales Solutions Engineering leads a team that bridges Sales, Account Management, and Product/Operations, ensuring every solution proposed is both operationally viable for customers and profitably deliverable by Slip.
In this role, you will join Account Executives in discovery and qualification calls from the earliest stages of opportunities, helping shape deal strategy and technical positioning. You'll translate customer site conditions—dock layout, trailer mix, throughput volume, staffing model—into validated SlipBot/SlipLift configurations and ROI models. You will review and validate Statements of Work and deployment scopes before contract execution to prevent commitments the configuration cannot support.
You'll conduct on-site or virtual technical feasibility assessments ahead of proposal finalization and serve as the technical bridge between Sales, Account Management, and Product/Engineering during and after deployment. Supporting Account Management with technical input on renewal and expansion conversations, you'll use deployment performance data to flag risk or upsell opportunity early. You'll also document configuration standards and sizing logic into reusable playbooks for the revenue organization.
This role requires 7+ years in a customer-facing technical role such as applications engineering, solutions engineering, systems engineering, or field engineering, ideally in industrial automation, robotics, material handling, or warehouse/logistics technology. You need genuine sales acumen—comfort driving early-stage discovery and qualification conversations, reading buying signals, and advancing deals. You must demonstrate the ability to translate physical and operational constraints into technical proposals that both customers and Slip's delivery team can execute. You should be comfortable owning both pre-sale technical validation and post-sale accountability, with working knowledge of operations across the industries Slip serves. Strong written and verbal communication skills, credible with both operations-floor stakeholders and executive buyers, are essential.
