Scanner.dev is building a Security Data Lake that enables teams to search and analyze petabytes of data in seconds. The company serves security teams, infrastructure teams, DevOps, and SREs who need instant answers across massive log volumes for threat detection, incident investigation, and system hunting. Scanner is also positioned as the Security Data Lake built for AI, with customers already building agents on the platform for automated investigation and alert triage.
The company is 25 people, funded by Sequoia, CRV, SVCI, and Mantis VC, and growing rapidly. Customers include Ramp, Notion, Postman, and Benchling across fintech, healthtech, AI, and banking sectors.
As Head of Sales, you will build and lead Scanner's sales organization from the ground up through its next growth stage. This is a player-coach role requiring someone who has scaled enterprise sales teams before and wants to remain directly involved in strategic deals and customer relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
**Build & Scale:** Construct Scanner's sales organization, operating model, and enterprise sales playbook. Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Enterprise and Corporate Account Executives. Build scalable onboarding, enablement, and operating rhythms.
**Sell:** Remain actively involved in strategic enterprise opportunities and executive customer relationships. Navigate technical evaluations, buying committees, procurement, and negotiations. Drive deal velocity and land-and-expand strategies across mid-market and enterprise accounts.
**Lead:** Set high bars for prospecting, discovery, technical credibility, deal strategy, and execution. Coach sellers through live deals and build a culture of accountability and customer focus. Develop future sales leaders.
**Operate:** Own forecasting, pipeline management, territories, quotas, capacity planning, compensation, and CRM discipline. Establish clear operating rhythms for pipeline inspection and deal reviews.
**Partner:** Work closely with Marketing on ICP, account strategy, and pipeline creation. Partner with Sales Engineering on technical evaluations and POCs. Work directly with founders on GTM strategy, pricing, positioning, and growth planning.
Required qualifications: 8–10+ years of B2B enterprise sales experience with meaningful leadership building high-performing teams. Deep cybersecurity sales experience across SIEM, security analytics, security data platforms, detection and response, or observability. Proven success selling complex technical products into large enterprises. Experience building a sales organization from scratch. Strong track record recruiting and developing excellent sellers. Command of forecasting, pipeline management, territories, quotas, compensation, and CRM discipline. Player-coach mentality with desire to remain personally involved in important customer conversations.
