Salary: USD 150,000 - 190,000 / annual
Ohalo Genetics is seeking a Head of Procurement to lead all vendor contracting, procurement strategy, and expense management for the organization. Reporting to the Controller, this role is central to ensuring procurement activities—spanning laboratory, greenhouse, automation, and production equipment, plus services—are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with operational and financial goals.
Key responsibilities include:
• Contract Negotiation & Management: Lead negotiations across diverse vendor contracts (equipment, lab/greenhouse supplies, service agreements, consulting agreements, subcontracts, grower contracts, logistics, and statements of work). Secure favorable terms and continuously evaluate supplier performance.
• Procurement Strategy: Develop data-driven strategies to optimize spending and enhance efficiency. Stay informed on market trends, identify new suppliers and technologies, and proactively improve processes.
• Procure-to-Pay Management: Oversee end-to-end PO processes, including requisition review, approvals, PO creation and issuance, delivery tracking, receipt verification, and invoice management in coordination with accounting.
• Inventory & Capex Management: Partner with finance, operations, and facilities to develop and implement effective inventory systems for capital expenditures. Track capex assets, monitor utilization, and identify optimization opportunities.
• Performance Tracking & Reporting: Establish and monitor key procurement metrics (cost savings, supplier performance, capex utilization). Regularly report to stakeholders.
• Compliance & Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of all procurement activities, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulations.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner across the organization to understand needs, develop project plans, and ensure timely procurement supporting operations and special projects.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with finance to develop budgets and forecasts. Monitor actual spending against budgets and provide variance analysis.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analyses to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and risks. Provide data-driven recommendations.
• Expense Management: Implement and oversee expense management processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and identifying cost optimization opportunities.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in procurement, vendor contract negotiation, capex management, and purchase order processing
• Proven track record of successful negotiations, cost savings, and efficient PO management
• In-depth knowledge and experience negotiating a wide range of consulting agreements, subcontract agreements, and statements of work including legal terms and conditions
• Deep expertise in technology tools (P2P and ERP systems), business processes, and managing end-to-end data flow from spreadsheets and/or source systems to final financial outcomes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders and suppliers
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
Desired Skills/Experience:
• Experience in biotech, research, or manufacturing industries
• Familiarity with laboratory, greenhouse, field grower, or automation equipment
• Experience implementing and scaling procurement and expense management processes across various platforms and systems
• Relevant procurement certifications (CPSM, CIPS) or familiarity with PLM or ERP systems
