Greptile is building an independent validation layer for software through AI agents that review and test code changes with full codebase context. The company has grown from zero to eight figures in ARR while maintaining a small, talent-dense team of roughly 30 people, and now processes 5 billion lines of code monthly for 22,000+ customers. As the first Head of People, you will partner directly with founders and company leaders to scale the organization from ~30 to 150+ people without diluting talent density, slowing execution, or introducing unnecessary bureaucracy. This is a strategic and hands-on role that bridges organizational design, people operations, and executive partnership. Key responsibilities include: partnering on organizational design, workforce planning, and critical people decisions; building a rigorous but lightweight performance system covering expectations, feedback, reviews, calibration, and promotions; coaching managers on team design, conflict resolution, and leadership development; owning compensation and equity strategy; managing sensitive employee matters; building employee lifecycle systems (onboarding, benefits, payroll, HRIS, compliance, immigration); partnering on executive hiring; and translating company values into hiring, reward, and promotion decisions. You will operate as both strategic adviser and hands-on executor—discussing organizational design in the morning and resolving HRIS issues that afternoon. The role requires 8+ years of People/HR/talent/organizational leadership experience, including meaningful responsibility at a rapidly growing tech company. You should have scaled an organization through a similar 30-150+ employee stage, personally managed difficult performance situations and investigations, and have strong knowledge of compensation, equity, and employment practices. The ideal candidate understands technical, talent-dense organizations; communicates directly and clearly; maintains exceptional confidentiality and judgment; and is comfortable challenging founders when necessary. You prefer building systems from first principles, working in person with an ambitious team, and remaining close to the work rather than immediately building a large team beneath you.
