Nectar Social is an AI-native social commerce platform founded by ex-Meta product and engineering leaders, backed by $30M+ in funding from GV and True Ventures. The company works with leading consumer brands including Oura Health, Caraway, e.l.f. Cosmetics, Kosas, and OLIPOP to enable authentic community-driven commerce. As Head of Marketing, you'll be the first marketing hire and own the complete marketing function end-to-end. You'll define Nectar's brand positioning and narrative for the emerging AI-native social commerce category, translating a sophisticated platform into compelling stories that resonate with marketing, social, creator, and CX leaders at major consumer brands. Key responsibilities include: defining brand, positioning, and category narrative across all surfaces (website, social, sales collateral, decks, press); building and owning the content engine (blog, customer stories, thought leadership, POV pieces); driving product marketing for Nectar Agent and future launches; partnering with founders on PR, analyst relations, and earned media; building a demand generation engine (website, SEO, email, paid, lifecycle); planning event strategy including hosted dinners and conference presence at NRF, Shoptalk, and Cannes Lions; developing sales enablement materials and case studies; translating product roadmap into external storytelling; and establishing marketing analytics and attribution. You should have 5+ years of marketing experience at high-growth B2B SaaS or consumer-tech startups, with 1-2 years in early-stage (Seed/Series A) environments where you built from zero. You need a track record of owning multiple marketing functions (brand, content, demand gen, product marketing), exceptional writing and storytelling skills, deep understanding of marketing to consumer brands and marketing technology buyers, strong positioning instincts in emerging categories, and a bias to ship. Fluency with modern AI tools is expected. Bonus experience includes marketing AI/automation/social/commerce platforms, existing relationships with brand leaders, journalism or content strategy background, category-defining narrative experience, and social platform expertise. The role is hybrid (4 days in office, 3 flex remote days per quarter after 3 months) based in Palo Alto. Compensation is competitive with early equity. Benefits include health/vision/dental, 401(k) match, $1,000/month housing stipend, $50/month mobile and internet stipends, commuter benefits, and free lunch.
