Anthropic is seeking a Head of Community to build and lead a global community function that drives user retention and product adoption across its diverse Claude user base. The role encompasses developers building products, individual users, and enterprise practitioners from technical staff to C-suite decision-makers.
You will own the global community strategy and operating model, defining audience segmentation, the portfolio of programs, and the balance between centralized and regional execution. You'll lead and scale a distributed global team of program managers and regional community leads, hiring for gaps, setting performance standards, and developing community-native operators.
Key responsibilities include: establishing a measurement framework that connects community initiatives to business outcomes (retained users, product adoption, expansion); building programs tailored to different audiences and seniority levels without fragmenting the user experience; connecting bottoms-up adoption within enterprise accounts to org-wide expansion; integrating training, certification, enablement, and community support into a scalable engine; partnering with Brand and Communications to maintain sentiment and awareness; and aligning community strategy with product launches, pricing, and packaging decisions.
You'll work at the intersection of Product, Sales, Product Marketing, Brand, and Communications. The ideal candidate has built and led a community or customer advocacy function at a growth-stage company where community drove measurable retention, adoption, or expansion outcomes. You should have experience leading distributed teams accountable for commercial impact, thinking in funnels and segments, connecting self-serve adoption to enterprise expansion, and operating as an integrated marketer across cross-functional teams. Experience with developer tools, AI products, PLG/enterprise hybrid motions, and international community building is valued.
