Deliveroo, a global food delivery marketplace now part of DoorDash, is seeking a Head of Communications & PR to lead external communications strategy in Italy. This hybrid role is based in Rome or Milan and reports to the Italian General Manager and international communications leadership.
You will own strategic reputation management for the Italian market, developing and executing communications and PR strategies aligned with global objectives while shaping narratives around consumers, policy, and merchant partners. Key responsibilities include leading crisis communications and managing sensitive topics with close coordination between local and global teams; building and maintaining relationships with key Italian media outlets, journalists, and content creators; serving as a company spokesperson and coaching local leadership for media appearances; directing local PR agency partners to deliver creative, digital-first B2B and B2C campaigns across earned and owned channels; and partnering cross-functionally with Policy, Legal, Marketing, and Operations to translate complex platform and economic topics into compelling public messaging.
You'll leverage AI tools to enhance efficiency and creative impact across all communications work. This is a strategic role requiring significant PR leadership experience, bilingual fluency in Italian and English, proven ability to manage agency partners and navigate matrix stakeholder environments, and an established media network in Italy. A digital-first approach and experience with social media platforms and AI-driven tools are essential. Experience in tech, marketplace, or delivery platform sectors is a plus.
