Supabase is seeking a Head of Communications (New Media) to own the company's voice across modern, direct channels where developers actually engage. This is a hands-on, mid-to-senior role that combines communications strategy with social media operations—moving away from traditional PR toward podcasts, YouTube, and direct audience engagement.
You will be responsible for executing Supabase's new media strategy, including running and growing the company's X and LinkedIn accounts directly, ghostwriting for founders and team members in their authentic voices, identifying and exploiting unconventional channels and formats, and booking cofounders on high-profile shows and podcasts in the developer space. You'll also work closely with DevRel and product marketing teams on product launches and manage communications during high-stakes moments—incidents, funding announcements, and crisis situations—requiring calm, credible, technically fluent messaging.
The role demands someone with a distinctive writing voice who can author both personal posts and ghostwritten content with equal skill. You should have a proven track record growing accounts, ideally for technical audiences, and an unconventional mindset willing to take opinions public while exercising good judgment. Seasoned judgment is essential: you'll need to handle serious moments with poise and technical credibility. High agency is expected—you're likely already doing a version of this work somewhere scrappier.

Qualifications:

- Track record of growing accounts, ideally for technical audiences
- Unconventional thinker willing to put opinions out there and push boundaries, with good judgment
- Seasoned enough for serious moments (incidents, funding, press)—calm, credible, technically fluent
- High agency and self-direction
