Nirvana is transforming the $1 trillion commercial insurance industry using AI and data. The company has built proprietary predictive models leveraging 50B+ miles of IoT data to enable AI-powered underwriting and claims processing that is 2x faster than traditional methods. With $300M+ run-rate, industry-leading loss ratios, and backing from top-tier VCs (Lightspeed, General Catalyst, Valor), Nirvana is expanding from an AI-native insurer into a broader platform transforming the entire insurance value chain.
As Head of Communications, you will be the first dedicated hire in this function, partnering directly with the CEO to define market perception and build comprehensive external and internal communications strategies. You will own the communications and PR strategy to elevate market presence with investors, candidates, customers, and partners. Key responsibilities include crafting compelling narratives that position Nirvana as the category-defining innovator in AI and insurance, shaping investor-facing messaging and materials, advancing executive visibility through thought leadership and public presence, cultivating relationships with press and influencers, and managing internal communications with key stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of communications, PR, or corporate communications experience, with proven in-house experience building and scaling communications functions in high-growth companies without existing playbooks. You should have strong experience with executive communications and building leadership presence, established relationships with tech, business, fintech, and/or insurtech press, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You are a strategic and analytical thinker who can distill complex technical and product concepts into compelling stories for diverse audiences. You thrive in fast-moving, high-growth environments with a bias-to-action mentality, moving quickly and getting hands-on. Experience managing multiple brands or product lines is a plus.
