Factory is seeking a Head of Communications to define and drive the company's narrative around agent-native software engineering. This is a strategic leadership role that combines hands-on execution with team building.
You will own Factory's communications strategy in partnership with leadership, translating complex technical concepts into compelling stories for enterprise engineering leaders and the broader AI community. Key responsibilities include defining the company narrative, running major product announcements and funding reveals, managing media relations with top-tier press, leading crisis communications and rapid-response infrastructure, and growing Factory's owned audience and executive visibility across modern channels.
You will serve as the primary company spokesperson, building relationships with key journalists and earning coverage that advances Factory's market position. You'll quarterback narrative strategy for product launches, partnerships, and thought leadership initiatives that position Factory as an industry authority. Additionally, you'll own internal communications to keep the company aligned during scaling, shape talent narratives to support recruitment, and coach executives to communicate with impact.
As the function grows, you will bring on team members and agency partners as needed, operating pragmatically between strategic vision and hands-on execution. Your work will make Factory discoverable across search and AI answer engines, shaping how the company appears in the tools people use to understand the market.
The role requires 10+ years in communications at high-growth tech companies with senior leadership experience. You must be an exceptional storyteller with editorial judgment, deep media relations expertise, and hands-on experience managing issues and crises. You should understand both traditional and new media dynamics, modern search and LLM discovery patterns, and communications analytics tools. High agency, low ego, and a bias toward action are essential.
