Coram AI is building an AI-native video security platform that combines computer vision and edge AI to help businesses stay safe and make smarter decisions. The company manufactures physical security hardware including cameras, door-access controllers, and intercoms deployed at customer sites.
You will be the first dedicated hardware engineering leader at Coram, owning the entire hardware function end-to-end. The access-control product line is already shipping and installed at customer sites; you inherit it, maintain quality and field performance, and drive two new product lines (edge-enabled cameras and intercoms) from concept through mass production within one year—an aggressive timeline compared to the industry norm of 9-12 months.
Your responsibilities include: maintaining the shipping access-control line (quality, field performance, change control, cost); leading two new product lines through design, EVT/PVT, certification, ramp, and mass production; owning the contract manufacturer relationship directly, including design transfer packages; hands-on engineering work in CAD, schematics, or board bring-up; building and documenting processes (stage gates, quality systems, supplier qualification, test protocols); hiring and growing two hardware engineers this year and building a team thereafter.
Design happens in Sunnyvale; manufacturing is handled by specialist contract manufacturing partners. The role is primarily engineering with significant partnership management across time zones and distance. You will manage a small design team locally and coordinate with a larger manufacturing team remotely.
