CesiumAstro is seeking a Guidance, Navigation, & Control (GNC) Engineer II to join a small, dynamic team developing communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. In this role, you will take ownership of GNC system design and analysis across all lifecycle stages—from concept through design, integration, test, and on-orbit operations. Key responsibilities include: - Performing trade studies and participating in design reviews for spacecraft GNC systems - Developing mathematical models and running simulations to validate system performance - Conducting system-level testing and analysis - Building, testing, and flying hardware on actual satellites - Contributing to all phases of satellite development and launch operations As a member of the spacecraft team in a startup environment, you will work cross-functionally on company-critical projects, gaining exposure beyond traditional GNC engineering. The role offers hands-on, interactive work with significant autonomy and the opportunity to see your designs deployed in orbit. This position requires U.S. citizenship or equivalent status due to space technology export regulations (ITAR compliance). Ideal candidates are passionate about aerospace systems, comfortable in fast-paced startup settings, and eager to contribute across multiple technical domains.
