Notion is seeking a GTM Compensation Lead for Commercial Operations to own commissions strategy, design, and execution for the go-to-market organization. This role sits at the intersection of Finance discipline and GTM effectiveness, responsible for designing and maintaining incentive systems that shape how sellers focus, partner, and grow with customers.
In the first 90 days, you will map the current GTM compensation operating model and publish a roadmap for evolving the function as the GTM organization scales. You'll introduce AI-driven quick wins to improve work quality—triaging inbound questions, helping reps estimate payouts, flagging discrepancies across systems, and automating reminders tied to the compensation calendar.
Key responsibilities include building a planning-cycle framework that clarifies design inputs, trade-offs, decision rights, and timelines across GTM, Finance, and Commercial Operations. You'll provide board-level updates on plan health, payout accuracy, systems quality, and key design decisions. Working closely with senior GTM leaders, including the Head of Sales and geo leaders, you'll translate business priorities into clear, accurate, and scalable compensation programs.
You should bring demonstrated judgment balancing financial controls with GTM effectiveness, strong financial modeling and data fluency, and experience leading transformative operational projects from design through rollout. A track record of building sustainable quarterly operating cadences—including clear calendars, communications frameworks, and repeatable review moments—is essential, ideally from a public company environment. An AI-fluent operating style is required; you should use AI to improve decision quality, automate manual checks, identify data discrepancies, and build self-serve tools and workflows. Familiarity with Everstage is a plus.
