As Senior Manager of Accounting & Tax Operations, you will lead a critical function bridging the tax and accounting teams while managing complex client scenarios. You'll oversee a team of bookkeepers and tax staff, providing strategic direction on intricate financial situations and ensuring seamless books-to-tax delivery.
Key responsibilities include: understanding complex-tier members' financial backgrounds and identifying tax optimization opportunities; mentoring and supporting your team's growth on challenging scenarios; managing ongoing tax and bookkeeping delivery for complex clients; handling escalations from members whose situations have become more complex; reviewing bookkeeping and federal/state tax returns (1040, 1120-S, 1065, and related schedules); serving as in-house technical expert for multi-state apportionment, nexus considerations, rental property basis, K-1 flow-through, and payroll sourcing issues; building playbooks and training modules to scale team capability; and documenting complex scenarios to identify patterns and drive process improvements.
You'll need an active CPA, EA, or JD credential; 5+ years scaling bookkeeping and tax operations; technical proficiency in complex multi-jurisdictional compliance and high-volume workflows; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and comfort with Google Workspace, Slack, tax preparation tools (CCH, GoSystems), and documentation platforms (Jira, Confluence).
