AlphaSense, a market intelligence platform trusted by over 6,000 enterprise customers including a majority of the S&P 500, is seeking a Senior Director of Accounting to lead core accounting operations as the company scales toward public company readiness.
In this highly visible leadership role, you will partner closely with the Controller and CAO leadership team to oversee accounting operations and ensure the company's financial foundation is strong, scalable, and aligned with future public company requirements. You will lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting organization while driving organizational maturity in a high-growth SaaS environment.
Key responsibilities include owning the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process with rigor and timeliness; designing and implementing a robust internal control framework aligned with SOX requirements; driving automation and process improvement initiatives across record-to-report cycles; optimizing ERP systems (NetSuite, Workday, FloQast) to support scalable reporting; and building public company-ready standard operating procedures and policies. You will also partner with peer leaders across Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting, Tax, and Treasury to align priorities and deliver enterprise-wide initiatives.
You bring 15+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience in high-growth SaaS or technology companies, with a CPA and Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred. You have demonstrated success leading accounting teams through IPO preparation and/or operating as a public company, with deep expertise in US GAAP, SOX compliance, and technical accounting. You are a proven operator who excels at building and scaling high-performing teams, implementing scalable systems and processes, and translating technical accounting into actionable insights for senior leaders. Strong business acumen, exceptional communication, executive presence, and cross-functional partnership skills are essential.
